Amy Synnestvedt

My name is Amy and I am a sacred passage end of life doula and hospice nurse residing in Indian Hills, CO. I began my career in caring for patients outside of Philadelphia in the emergency trauma center. I describe being “rewritten after having children” and began volunteering for hospice at Mt Evans Home Health and Hospice in Evergreen, CO. I currently offer respite care to caregivers by sitting with their family members on hospice in their homes or sitting vigil for those people nearing the end of their life in the active stage of dying. I have also worked as a hospice nurse caring for patients in their home and following their lead as they approach end of life. Currently, I collaborate with three local end of life doulas as part of the Eversoul Collective. We offer death cafe’s and workshops in the Foothills community creating safe spaces to speak and explore death and dying among other curious community members.

I also offer a program called the best three months (B3M), which dives into personal end of life care and planning before death becomes imminent. This is a way for clients to explore the physical, practical, mental, spiritual, and emotional domains of one’s life within the context of death. What would you repair, who would you want beside you, what shifts in perspective would you discover in your current life…if you were facing death? What comes up for you here? This program has been fulfilling for many and I describe the transformation following the program as “surprisingly enlightening. A true gift.”

I look forward to serving my community in the space of death and dying. Our culture has gradually grown away from becoming empowered to care for our dying and advocate for ourselves and our deepest needs within the final challenge of our life… our death.
May you fully express yourself and your life through a conscious death where you are not alone.
